Behind the Design

This commemorative design celebrates the memory of Lonesome George (Chelonoidis abingdonii), a global symbol of the Galápagos and a powerful reminder of the fragility of island life. The illustration features volcanic rocks, cacti, plants, and elements from his natural environment, including vegetation associated with his diet, all brought together in an earthy color palette that reinforces his connection to the island landscape.

At the top, the design references the former 5,000-sucre banknote, which also featured the Galápagos penguin and the flightless cormorant. This visual detail connects the archipelago’s natural history with Ecuador’s cultural memory. More than a tribute to an extinct species, this design seeks to represent the resilience, uniqueness, and irreplaceable value of Galápagos wildlife, inviting us to remember, reflect, and protect what is still alive.

Our Laptop Bag combines two main materials that bring both character and functionality: recycled polyester eco canvas and high-resistance vegan leather, carefully coordinated to create a refined, durable, and practical piece.

The interior is fully lined and padded, providing an additional layer of protection for your laptop during everyday commuting, workdays, or travel.

Measuring 43.5 × 31 cm, the bag is designed to accommodate laptops in different sizes, including 14", 15.4", and up to 16" models, depending on the specific dimensions of each device.

Functionality is built into every detail. The main compartment keeps your laptop protected, while a side pocket provides additional space for a tablet, documents, notebook, or other daily essentials. The outer fabric helps protect against everyday splashes and light contact with liquids, while the vegan leather reinforces high-contact areas and adds structure to the bag.

Inside, we incorporate padding and a full lining, creating an additional protective layer for the laptop and preventing the device from resting directly against the outer structure of the bag.

Each piece is cut, assembled, and finished in our partner artisan workshops led by women, with careful attention to seams, construction, and finishing details to create a product designed for frequent use.
Impact

We aim to create functional objects that can remain in use for a long time.

The use of recycled polyester in the main fabric allows us to incorporate recovered material into our production, while a durable and repairable construction helps extend the useful life of the product.

The bag is also made in collaboration with women-led artisan workshops, generating fairly paid work and strengthening local skills within our production chain.
