Behind the Design

This design celebrates the Andean cock-of-the-rock (Rupicola peruvianus), one of the most striking birds of the Andean cloud forests. The illustration highlights its unmistakable silhouette, its reddish plumage, and the unique shape of its crest, which give it a vibrant, almost theatrical presence.

Flowers, leaves, and botanical forms are woven into its body as an artistic element that enhances its natural color and emphasizes its exuberant character. Perched on a branch, the bird is surrounded by a vegetal atmosphere that evokes the richness of the humid forests of mainland Ecuador. Rather than portraying an exact botanical relationship, the composition seeks to convey the energy, beauty, and visual intensity of one of the region’s most emblematic birds.
Description

An everyday object transformed through design.

Our 18 × 22 cm mousepad combines a comfortable surface for smooth mouse movement with exclusive illustrations inspired by the biodiversity of Galápagos and Ecuador.

Its compact format fits easily into home, office, or study spaces, adding color and personality without taking up too much room.
Materials & Sustainability

Each mousepad features a surface specially prepared to receive our illustrations through digital sublimation.
This process uses heat to integrate the design into the fibers of the surface, allowing vibrant colors, fine details, and high-definition compositions without leaving a rigid layer of ink on top of the material.

The base provides stability during use and helps keep the mousepad in place on the desk.
Impact

We aim to bring biodiversity into the objects that are part of our everyday routines.

Each mousepad transforms a functional desk accessory into a small window into the species and landscapes that inspire 593 Origins.

By designing products intended for frequent and long-term use, we seek to create objects that combine functionality, durability, and a connection with nature.
