Behind the Design

This design celebrates the Galápagos vermilion flycatcher (Pyrocephalus nanus), an endemic species whose intense red plumage brightens the vegetation of the islands. The composition portrays the male, the female catching an insect, and the pair in flight, revealing different aspects of its behavior and agile, insect-eating nature.

Surrounded by leaves, branches, and abundant shades of green, the male’s vibrant red becomes the focal point of a scene full of movement and life. More than portraying its beauty, this design seeks to bring us closer to one of the most distinctive birds of the Galápagos and the natural habitats it needs to survive.

It features a top zipper for easy access and a soft, padded interior lining that helps protect the items inside. Its durable, waterproof exterior provides added protection against splashes and accidental spills.

Made from eco canvas crafted with 100% recycled polyester derived from PET bottles. Its backing prevents water from passing through, while the outer finish helps repel liquids, splashes, and environmental exposure.

The material was developed to withstand intensive use: it exceeds 60,000 Martindale abrasion cycles, resists tension and tearing, and helps preserve color when exposed to sunlight, chlorinated water, and salt water. The base fabric is certified to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, and according to the manufacturer, its recycled content is certified under the RCS —Recycled Claim Standard—.

Each case is handmade and printed using digital sublimation, allowing us to reproduce detailed illustrations, vibrant colors, and rich blacks. The inks used are certified to OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT.
Impact

This cosmetic bag transforms recycled PET bottles into a durable, reusable product designed to accompany you for years to come.

It is handmade in women-led community workshops, where we seek to create fairly paid employment, strengthen local skills, and distribute the opportunities generated by our production more equitably.
