Behind the Design

This book began with a simple idea: to make a child’s first letters also a first encounter with biodiversity.

Each page connects the alphabet with animals, plants, and elements inspired by Galápagos and Ecuador, using colorful illustrations and characters designed to capture the attention and curiosity of young children.

Jaguar, albatross, marine iguana, llama, snakes, and many other species become learning companions, creating a world where letters and nature appear together from the earliest stages of childhood.

More than simply memorizing the ABCs, we want every page to become a small opportunity to look, ask, discover, and learn.

Description

First letters can also become a gateway to discovering nature.

Our ABC Book was created especially for young children, combining alphabet learning with colorful illustrations inspired by the flora and fauna of Galápagos and mainland Ecuador.

Throughout its pages, children can discover letters, words, and species such as the jaguar, albatross, marine iguana, llama, snakes, and many other inhabitants of our country.

Designed in Spanish and English, this book turns a child’s first encounter with letters into a visual, playful, and engaging introduction to biodiversity.

Materials & Sustainability

The book is made with sugarcane fiber paper and constructed with thick pages that are easier for small hands to handle.

Its hardcover provides structure and resistance, while a matte protective film helps preserve the illustrations against rubbing, light moisture, and the frequent handling expected from a children’s book.

The illustrations are printed in full color to create visually engaging pages, where each letter connects with a species or element from Ecuador’s natural world.

Impact

Learning to recognize a letter can also be the beginning of learning to recognize a species.

With this book, we aim to introduce biodiversity to children from an early age, using illustrations, words, and colors to spark curiosity about the animals and plants that are part of Ecuador.

The use of sugarcane fiber paper also reflects our search for alternative materials to create durable educational products with less dependence on traditional paper fibers.

Our goal is simple: to make learning and discovering nature something that can begin from the very first years of childhood.

Because we believe that when we know nature, we learn to protect it.
