Behind the Design

This design celebrates the diversity of Galápagos sea turtles, bringing together four extraordinary species: the Pacific green turtle (Chelonia mydas agassizii), the leatherback sea turtle (Dermochelys coriacea), the hawksbill sea turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata), and the loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta).

The composition highlights the differences in shape, color, and shell that make each species unique, while the smaller figures surrounding them create a sense of movement and travel across the ocean. The natural tones and weathered textures evoke a vintage marine exploration plate, reminding us of the richness and fragility of the life found in the waters of the Galápagos.

The design is printed using sublimation technology, creating vibrant colors and detailed artwork that become part of the fabric itself.

Made from a continuous tubular fabric, creating a piece without side seams for greater comfort when worn around the neck or head.

The artwork is reproduced using digital sublimation, a process that integrates color directly into the fabric fibers through heat and pressure. This allows for detailed illustrations and vibrant colors while maintaining a soft surface without a rigid layer of ink.

Each piece is carefully finished as part of our local textile production.

Impact

Our textile production works with women-led community workshops, where we seek to create fairly paid employment, strengthen local skills, and distribute the opportunities generated by our production more equitably.
