Behind the Design

This design celebrates the marine iguana (Amblyrhynchus cristatus), one of the most extraordinary and emblematic species of the Galápagos. Its robust silhouette, reptilian texture, and ancestral presence evoke the strength of an animal found nowhere else in the world, adapted to live between volcanic rock and the ocean.

Flowers, cacti, opuntias, and other botanical details native to the islands are woven into its body as a creative interpretation of Galápagos biodiversity. The composition seeks to unite land and sea in a single image, blending the arid island landscape with the richness of coastal life. Inside, we incorporate padding and a full lining, creating an additional protective layer for the laptop and preventing the device from resting directly against the outer structure of the bag.

Each piece is cut, assembled, and finished in our partner artisan workshops led by women, with careful attention to seams, construction, and finishing details to create a product designed for frequent use.
